For this project, I decided to do a volcano background for an evil villain who wants to destroy the world. I have never tried this kind of environment before, and will focus mainly on colors and lighting.

The first picture is of the final block. The other three are test blocks in black and white. The final block prints can be found on my grading blog.
The test block sketch I will use to practice carving for my real block print. Everything that is not colored in will be carved.
I decided to do a close up of a hand for my ink drawing. I mainly wanted to focus on the direction of the lines and have strong values between the shadows and highlights.
Here is my progress on my landscape painting. So far, I am focusing on the background first, then I will work on the foreground.
I mainly focused on proportion and showing space in my drawing to make it more realistic. In the first picture I identified the foreground, middle ground, background, and skye. In the second drawing I tried to identify the shapes of the car in a three dimensional space. Finally, I set up the position of everything in the third picture.
This week's project was to take a picture of an "ironic" landscape and paint it. This picture was taken in a forest near my house. I thought that having a car, generally something that can take on the elements, is practically destroyed by nature. I also just really really pretty and I wanted to paint this.
The main thing I am working on is getting proportions right and working on the eyes. I have improved on shading and drawing the mouth
Fall leaves using water color. Over the course of this project, I learned how to use water color correctly. I learned to go from light to dark, use multiple layers of color, and to let the color run.
